2012 Spring ORV Run at Juniper Dunes
Report by Clay Graham / Eastern Washington Adventures
Photos by Clay Graham & Amanda Graham / Eastern Washington Adventures

On Friday the 13th (April of 2012), we met up with the other Eastern Washington Adventures members to camp out for the Spring ORV Run at Juniper Dunes.

After we got camp set up, we took an afternoon run. The group was small since the main event was plan for the next day. On this run it was Guido in his TJ, Icesis & kids in his RZR and me & kids in the Tweety Jeep. We covered a lot of ground until something happened to the Dana 35 in the Tweety Jeep. It has some loud popping sound. I was able to wheel it back up to the main road and back to camp.

Around 10 AM Saturday April 14th we headed back out to the dunes with a big group of all types of ORVs. Since my rig was down, Odo and I rode with Guido, Kenny24 took two of my other boys and my daughter rode with Icesis in his RZR. Thanks guys!

Out at the big dunes below the upper parking area a few more showed up. We headed out to the Northeast big dunes wheeling the trails all the way. We had a blast out in that section of the Juniper Dunes.

After awhile we wheeled on back to camp for the Potluck Dinner. Thanks to a lot of people pitching in for Potluck Dinner, there was plenty of good food. We had a bond fire that followed dinner. Thank you Kenny24 for providing the fire wood.

Sunday after packing up camp, we took the finial run. I rode my quad, Kenny24 took my 3 boys and Power Wagon took my and Kenny24’s daughters. Thanks guys for make it so my family could go Sunday too. We also had AlwayswrenchN in his YJ, TJ40 in his TJ and Craigen on his quad. We covered a lot of ground on Sunday too. It was a blast.

We pull out of camp around 5 PM or so with the kids not wanting to leave. We cannot wait to go back to Juniper Dunes to play.

Thank you to everyone that came out to make this a fun trip.

2012 Eastern Washington Adventures Spring Fling – Apr 7 2012

2012 Eastern Washington Adventures Spring Fling
Report by Clay Graham / Eastern Washington Adventures

Every year in April we have a barbeque for the Eastern Washington Adventure members and their families.

This year this event fell the day before Easter so we held an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids too. Family Fun!

This was another fun Spring Fling thanks to all who came out. Here are some photos:

Here are a few pictures of the EWA Meeting the night before getting ready for the Spring Fling Easter Egg Hunt.

On Saturday April 7th, 2012 we had our Annual Spring Fling at the Eastern Washington Adventures Club House.

The first set of photos were taken by Doc that is 6 years old. So these pictures are from a kid’s view.

I took over the camera so Doc could go find Easter Eggs with the other kids.

And they are off and running!

After the Easter Egg hunt the kids went back to playing.

We had a great time again this year.

Report and photos by Clay Graham / Eastern Washington Adventures

On Saturday March 24th, 2012 volunteers met up at the Slab ORV Area near Buena Washington around 10 AM for the Slab Clean-up hosted by the Dust Dodgers & Yakima/Kittitas Forest Watch Association (a division of Eastern Washington Adventures).

This year the Slab ORV Area was a not trashed to bad. There was a lot of volunteers so it did not take to long. I will post numbers when I get them.

We would like to thank all the people that came out to help. Thank you to the Dust Dodgers for the hot dogs and for taking care of the dump fee.

Here are a few pictures I took of the day:

Western Washington Vacation Day 3 of 3

Western Washington Vacation Day 3 of 3
Report by Clay Graham / Eastern Washington Adventures

On Monday March 12, 2012 we headed home from the west side. The Pass on I-90 was closed so we decided to do some sightseeing and take Hwy 12 over.

Here we are on I-5 coming up on the Tacoma Dome.

We stopped in Lacey for fuel and then went to check out Cabela’s.

This store was like a zoo.

Live fish.

More fish.

Next stop was at the Capital in Olympia.

The next stop was on the East Side at Oak Creek Elk Feeding Station.

Yes we had a Discover Pass. No one else did though.

We stopped in Selah and had dinner at Pizza Hut.

This was a fun rainy day with the family.

Spanaway Moonshiners Jeep Club 4×4 Swapmeet

Spanaway Moonshiners Jeep Club 4×4 Swapmeet
Report by Clay Graham / Eastern Washington Adventures
Photos by Clay Graham and Doc Graham

On March 11, 2012 the Spanaway Moonshiners Jeep Club had their 30th ANNUAL 4X4 Offroad & High Performance Swapmeet. 4WheelingPlus.com donated a booth space to the Yakima/Kittitas Forest Watch Association so we could promote the Forest Watch Volunteer Program. Within the first few hours we handed out a lot of eduction material. The YKFWA kids gave out 120 “Muddy the Forest Watch Bear” stickers to the kids.

We closed up after the crowd slowed down due to mine and my wife’s medical conditions can not take the cold. Next year we hope to be able to get a booth in the heated building. If not we will not have a Forest Watch VP booth unless someone else can make it over to run it.

Here are some photos we took of the event. The first photos were taken by my 6 year old son, Doc Graham.
